Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, deployment, maintenance, and scaling of robust full-stack applications.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap, prioritize and delegate engineering work, and guide the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain web applications using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Design, build, and manage GraphQL and REST APIs and integrate them with front-end frameworks.
- Lead code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, scalability, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Mentor, coach, and lead a team of full-stack developers.
- Automate development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Establish validation, verification, and comprehensive testing strategies.
- Document architecture, development phases, and system designs.
- Lead system monitoring, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
- Evaluate new technologies and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of full-stack software development experience, including at least 3 years in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
- Hands-on expertise with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong experience with GraphQL APIs, Apollo, TypeGraphQL, react-query, and Apollo Client.
- Experience with NestJS for GraphQL and REST API development.
- Proficiency in modern CSS, Tailwind, and component libraries such as ShadCN.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, including data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
- Experience architecting and managing large-scale applications and monorepos such as NxDev and TurboRepo.
- Experience with Jest, Cypress, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure or AWS, including services such as App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor development teams and drive technical direction.
- Native Dutch and English communication skills are required; French is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred qualifications include AI integration experience, data processing, MLOps, machine learning concepts, ReactNative or other mobile development experience, startup and corporate experience, and open-source or technology community contributions.
