Responsibilities
- Partner with department leads and teams to understand current workflows, identify problems, and frame them clearly.
- Break ambiguous situations into defined problems, scope, success criteria, and delivery plans.
- Simplify business processes and determine where AI is and is not appropriate.
- Navigate stakeholders, approvals, and competing priorities to keep internal engagements moving.
- Own technical strategy and architecture for internal use cases.
- Design, build, and operate production LLM and agentic systems from discovery through production.
- Implement retrieval/RAG, tool use, context and prompt design, guardrails, and observability.
- Define and run evaluations including test sets, regression suites, and monitoring.
- Mentor colleagues, review designs, and share reusable engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior work with business stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with business and technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision on ambiguous work.
- Ability to navigate organizational complexity and competing priorities.
- Strong problem-finding, analytical, and process-simplification skills.
- Experience building and operating production systems and strong system design capability.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents, including prompting, tool use, RAG, and evaluation.
- Strong Python skills.
- Experience with data pipelines and at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Consulting or internal-consulting experience is preferred.
