Base Salary
$140k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the EKS cluster, on-premises site clusters, upgrades, capacity, autoscaling, ingress, DNS, and GitOps delivery.
- Build self-service infrastructure for provisioning services, databases, preview environments, and scheduled jobs.
- Make metrics, logs, traces, and meaningful alerts standard for deployed services.
- Extend the platform to on-premises and edge sites supporting GPU inference and plant data collection over constrained links.
- Manage cloud cost visibility, budgets, and right-sizing.
- Own identity, access, and secrets management.
- Respond to infrastructure incidents, create runbooks, and eliminate recurring failure classes.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years building and operating production infrastructure, including hands-on Kubernetes cluster operation, upgrades, and debugging.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to build well-designed tools and abstractions.
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Pulumi, Terraform, or similar tools and GitOps-style continuous delivery.
- A track record of building platforms that other engineers willingly adopt.
- Practical observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation systems.
- Fluency in Python or TypeScript and sufficient AWS familiarity to make sound cost and architecture tradeoffs.
- Experience supporting ML or data-intensive workloads, including GPU scheduling, distributed training, or pipeline orchestration, is preferred.
- Experience with on-premises or edge infrastructure, industrial networks, or constrained-connectivity environments is preferred.
- Startup experience and domain experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, mining, or capital projects are beneficial but not required.
