Forward Deployed Engineer - Public Sector, Nonprofit & Education
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Develop and deploy AI agents and experiences that take real actions for customer organizations.
- Design agent intelligence, including prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integrations with customer systems.
- Own technical components end-to-end from architecture selection through validated, observable production deployment.
- Build and integrate data pipelines using Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms.
- Model data, validate pipeline outputs, and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting.
- Deliver proofs of concept and MVPs rapidly and co-build solutions with customers and partners.
- Share implementation best practices and enablement while leaving customer teams more capable.
- Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior engineers and product teams.
- Partner with Deployment Strategists to translate customer challenges into deployable agentic solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with 6–10 years for Senior levels.
- At least one production system that the candidate can demonstrate, ideally involving AI technology, full-stack development, or frontier models.
- Required prior customer-facing technical delivery experience in consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering.
- Experience managing and delivering customer-facing projects in public sector, higher education, or nonprofit environments.
- Fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams and customer architects and to evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigor.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Salesforce platform experience or certifications, agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, cloud data platform experience, and data engineering or platform architecture experience are preferred.
