Responsibilities
- Own product work from early ideation and R&D through deployment and long-term maintenance.
- Architect resilient embedded systems and conduct validation against technical constraints and functional requirements.
- Build high-performance features for Verkada’s embedded Linux device ecosystem, including cameras, access control, alarms, and environmental sensors.
- Extend backend services implemented in Go and Python.
- Improve internal developer tools and infrastructure to streamline product delivery.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve critical issues affecting field devices and end users.
- Travel to partner foundries and manufacturing facilities to support hardware bring-up and validation.
Requirements
- Deep demonstrated experience with Go, including standard libraries, concurrency patterns, profiling, benchmarking, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux user space and hardware-software interaction.
- Experience building and scaling resilient distributed systems using service-oriented architectures.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, gRPC, WebSockets, and WebRTC.
- Proficiency with Python and Bash for tooling, test automation, and systems scripting.
- Familiarity with C or C++ for low-level systems engineering, firmware interaction, and performance-critical code is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar lab equipment is preferred.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining services in AWS environments is preferred.
