Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI use cases for technical feasibility, effort, architecture, risks, data requirements, and operational readiness.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical target architectures and develop, test, and operate AI solutions within approved platforms, architectures, and enterprise AI guardrails.
- Build and integrate LLM applications, RAG pipelines, agents, tools, skills, APIs, and MCP connections.
- Develop and maintain frontend, backend, and integration components according to the use case.
- Support rollout, monitoring, continuous improvement, and scaling of productive AI solutions.
- Ensure secure, stable, maintainable, compliant, and properly authorized solutions, including documentation of architectures and operational knowledge.
- Collaborate with AI Lab, Digital Services, IT, Cyber Security, Data Governance, AI experts, and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate new models, frameworks, and technologies and turn local AI prototypes into reusable, scalable enterprise solutions.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Relevant professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, or a comparable technical environment.
- Practical experience with LLM integration, RAG systems, agent architectures, context engineering, tool use, prompting, evaluation, or fine-tuning.
- Confident use of technologies such as Python, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, Docker, APIs, cloud platforms, and CI/CD or comparable stacks.
- End-to-end understanding of AI applications, including data sources, retrieval, orchestration, model integration, authorization, evaluation, monitoring, and operations.
- Understanding of security, data protection, compliance, and governance in enterprise environments.
- Strong communication skills, a structured and reliable hands-on approach, and enthusiasm for working with business, AI, data, and IT teams.
- Fluent English and good German skills.
