Base Salary
$180k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement complex UI components and systems balancing aesthetics with technical performance.
- Lead the technical implementation and evolution of Replit UI, the company design system.
- Create prototypes to explore interaction models and validate design concepts.
- Collaborate with product designers to implement designs with pixel-perfect precision.
- Establish front-end development and component architecture best practices.
- Mentor engineers on design principles and implementation techniques.
- Develop tools and processes that improve the design-to-development workflow.
- Contribute to design reviews with a focus on technical feasibility and implementation.
- Champion accessible, responsive, and performant user interfaces.
Requirements
- 8+ years of front-end development experience with a strong design sensibility.
- Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep experience with modern front-end frameworks, preferably React.
- Strong understanding of design systems and component-based architecture.
- Experience implementing complex UI animations and interactions.
- Ability to translate design concepts into production-ready code.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration across design and engineering teams.
- Experience with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience building design tools or developer tools is a bonus qualification.
- Background or interest in working with AI is a bonus qualification.
- Open-source contributions to design systems or UI libraries are a bonus qualification.
- Being an active Replit user and passionate about accessible software creation is a bonus qualification.
