Base Salary

$119k - $203k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineers by organizing technical work, clarifying priorities, removing blockers, reviewing outcomes, and providing coaching.
  • Design, develop, and maintain production web applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core or MVC, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Translate product, data, security, accessibility, and operational requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Guide REST API, domain model, SQL Server, integration, data entry, batch upload, validation, workflow, notification, reporting, and data download capabilities.
  • Establish expectations for automated testing, code quality, peer review, branching, release readiness, and documentation.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment and coordinate releases with cloud, DevSecOps, database, security, and quality teams.
  • Investigate production defects and performance issues using logs, monitoring data, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure secure coding, least-privilege access, role-based authorization, privacy, Section 508, and WCAG requirements.
  • Participate in Agile planning, estimation, demonstrations, releases, user acceptance testing, and stakeholder communication.
  • Contribute to engineering standards and mentor less-experienced engineers across the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years developing and supporting resilient, well-tested production web applications.
  • At least 3 years using C#, .NET or .NET Core, and ASP.NET MVC or Web API with object-oriented design.
  • At least 2 years leading or providing technical direction to software engineers, including code review, blocker resolution, decision documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • At least 3 years working with SQL Server or another relational database, including data modeling, query development, and performance troubleshooting.
  • At least 2 years developing REST APIs and browser applications with JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and HTTP and HTTPS/TLS.
  • At least 2 years using automated testing and Git-based workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, and release management.
  • At least 1 year supporting cloud-hosted applications using containers or comparable deployment approaches.
  • At least 2 years implementing authentication, authorization, role-based access, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and ability to perform all work within the United States.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination and complete required background screening.
  • Preferred experience includes modernizing legacy .NET applications, AWS or AWS GovCloud operations, CloudWatch or Splunk, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, Okta, batch ingestion, ETL, Tableau, federal or public health systems, NIST Moderate controls, FedRAMP, ATO processes, and Section 508/WCAG requirements.
