Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, distributed data applications using the AWS Databricks platform.
- Lead integration of GenAI and agentic AI technologies across the application development lifecycle.
- Design secure, reliable, maintainable, and enterprise-aligned application architectures.
- Implement security, compliance, governance, scalability, and reliability controls.
- Evaluate and communicate architectural tradeoffs involving cost, security, operability, and performance.
- Mentor engineers and influence application development standards and best practices.
- Lead or support development teams from project definition through implementation.
- Debug complex production issues and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of IT-relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 7 years without a bachelor's degree.
- At least 4 years of full-stack application development experience using technologies such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- At least 3 years of experience with data structures, algorithms, and data stores.
- The broader qualifications describe 10 or more years of software engineering experience with data applications and 12 or more years of IT-related full-stack application development with a bachelor's degree.
- At least 5 years of experience designing distributed, event-driven, and API-first systems with strong reliability and security practices.
- Strong expertise in LLM and GenAI ecosystems, including orchestration frameworks, agentic and graph-based workflows, RAG and search patterns, and vector databases.
- Strong understanding of SQL, relational database design, NoSQL databases, AWS cloud services, Databricks, data pipelines, storage, and governance.
- Experience with security, compliance, SOX, GDPR, or other regulated environments.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification or equivalent experience is preferred; other Azure or GCP certifications are also relevant.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, automated testing frameworks, Gradle, Maven, IntelliJ, or Eclipse.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development, system design, technical documentation, test preparation, and test reviews.
- Experience leading or working on small- to medium-sized development teams and strong communication skills are required.
- Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of general IT-related experience, with a master's degree substituting one year and a doctorate substituting two years.
