Responsibilities
- Own and operate AWS environments across Linux and Windows Server, including patching, backups, recovery, and MongoDB administration.
- Build and maintain repeatable infrastructure environments using Terraform modules and managed state.
- Manage IAM, least privilege, secrets, certificates, encryption, logging, and security tooling.
- Create monitoring, alerting, and dashboards and lead infrastructure incident response.
- Maintain compliance evidence, asset registers, diagrams, and documentation for ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
- Automate operational work with Python, PowerShell, Bash, C#/.NET, serverless functions, and infrastructure code.
- Define infrastructure standards, coach developers, and participate in customer onboarding and procurement discussions.
- Translate customer hosting, identity, security, and environment requirements into clear designs.
Requirements
- Several years of production infrastructure experience in AWS, with strong depth in networking, compute, IAM, storage, and monitoring.
- Strong Terraform experience, including writing modules, managing state, and building environments from code.
- Confident administration of both Linux and Windows Server.
- Hands-on MongoDB operational experience with replica sets, backups, performance, and upgrades.
- Coding experience in at least one of Python, PowerShell, Bash, or C#/.NET, with a focus on automation.
- Practical understanding of infrastructure security controls and ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials expectations.
- Strong written documentation skills and the ability to explain technical decisions to customers, auditors, and developers.
- Desirable qualifications include AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Security Specialty certification; MongoDB, Linux, or Microsoft server certifications; identity provider and SSO experience; containers, orchestration, or serverless design; enterprise or public-sector hosting; supplier assurance and data residency; FinOps; and UK housing-sector knowledge.
