Base Salary
$228k - $385k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own technical outcomes and company-critical customer and business impact across multiple teams and organizations.
- Define long-term technical strategy and serve as the technical owner for major company objectives.
- Solve ambiguous technical and product problems and influence cross-organization roadmaps.
- Remain hands-on by designing, prototyping, implementing, and reviewing critical foundational software.
- Architect and evolve frontend, backend, and platform systems serving hundreds of millions of users.
- Set engineering standards and drive responsible AI adoption in products and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving substantial software development, or equivalent industry experience demonstrating deep technical mastery.
- 15+ years of experience designing, building, and evolving large-scale software systems with impact across multiple teams or organizations.
- Demonstrated Principal-level experience owning company-critical technical problems and influencing long-term technical direction.
- Strong experience building consumer-facing products at scale, including user experience, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Broad technical expertise across several areas including frontend, mobile, search, databases, storage systems, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- Practical production experience with modern ML, LLM-based APIs, and agentic frameworks, with judgment around quality, cost, and risk.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior engineering, product, and executive audiences.
- Experience defining company-wide platforms or architectural standards adopted across multiple organizations is preferred.
- Experience introducing AI or ML into core products or engineering workflows is preferred.
- Experience in highly distributed, virtual-first engineering organizations at global scale is preferred.
Benefits
- US Zone 1 base salary range is $284,800–$385,200.
- US Zone 2 base salary range is $256,300–$346,700.
- US Zone 3 base salary range is $227,800–$308,200.
