Base Salary
$148k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance benchmarks and workloads, then measure, analyze, interpret, and communicate the results.
- Develop AI-assisted performance-engineering tools for bottleneck analysis, automated regression triage, and ML-based capacity planning.
- Evaluate design alternatives and prototype performance improvements across cloud services and distributed components.
- Analyze customer experience signals and usage patterns and provide recommendations to engineering and management.
- Optimize cloud software and distributed systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience is required.
- Knowledge of performance analysis, modeling, benchmarking, and workload characterization is required.
- Understanding of latency, throughput, cost, and reliability tradeoffs in multi-tenant, elastic cloud environments is required.
- Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques to performance engineering and understanding of AI/ML workloads is required.
- Strong foundations in operating systems, data structures, and standard programming practices are required; systems programming in C is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Python and shell scripting, with Perl acceptable, and comfort working with Jupyter notebooks is required.
- A Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience, is required.

- Target base salary is $147,900–$220,000 USD, with final compensation varying by location, qualifications, experience, and education.
