Responsibilities
- Design and develop modular, maintainable Android Automotive OS infotainment applications.
- Architect full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback.
- Develop modules communicating with VHAL and other HALs through AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code-quality, and testing practices.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
- Lead Android infotainment application development across automotive platforms.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional experience is required; the role additionally specifies six years of Android application development or infotainment and telematics experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++14/17.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, partitioning, and cross-partition communication.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level, plus media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication.
- Experience with unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434, TARA, and secure communication practices.
- Automotive or embedded-systems experience is preferred.
