Base Salary

$163k - $245k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate autonomy software for unmanned air, maritime, space, ground, and effects/expendable platforms.
  • Implement mission behaviors, platform controls, multi-agent coordination, contingencies, executive autonomy, and C2 interfaces.
  • Perform payload computer bring-up, container-based deployment, system configuration, and hardware/software compatibility validation.
  • Own validation from software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop through vehicle-in-the-loop and live test exercises.
  • Diagnose integration and performance issues across autonomy stacks, embedded systems, payload computers, and operational loads.
  • Capture mission data, reproduce issues in simulation, and drive fixes into subsequent builds.
  • Implement and validate C2 standards including A-GRA, UCI, and OMS.
  • Travel approximately 10–20% to offices, customer sites, integration events, and test locations.
  • Support flight tests, range exercises, on-water trials, integration events, and live mission operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically requires 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 4 years with a master’s degree, 2 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and experience developing or integrating real-time or latency-sensitive systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux-based development, embedded systems, shell scripting, and system diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with middleware, publish-subscribe, or IPC frameworks such as DDS and ActiveMQ.
  • Hands-on experience supporting demonstrations, exercises, or field and mission tests for unmanned or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with autonomy simulation environments for testing and validation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance across the full stack.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include Python, autonomy stacks, motion planning, vehicle-control integration, vehicle electronics bring-up, payload computer integration, and hardware-in-the-loop debugging.
  • Preferred experience includes k3s, k3d, Docker, PX4, ArduPilot, Conan, CMake, C2 standards, AFSIM, NGTS, and DoD technical or field-event support.
