Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve VIAVI’s enterprise AI governance framework aligned with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and the EU AI Act.
  • Establish AI risk tiering, classification, approval, intake, exception, waiver, discovery, and audit processes.
  • Lead AI-specific threat modeling and define secure architecture patterns for LLM applications, autonomous agents, and multi-agent workflows.
  • Embed secure AI development controls, CI/CD gates, pre-production reviews, and post-deployment monitoring with engineering teams.
  • Design runtime protections including prompt injection detection, jailbreak protection, output controls, and abuse detection.
  • Define human-on-the-loop checkpoints for high-risk autonomous agent decisions.
  • Implement granular access controls, data monitoring, classification, retention, boundary, and exfiltration-prevention controls for AI systems.
  • Partner with Engineering, Legal, Privacy, Product, Risk, IT, Procurement, and Compliance teams and report to the CISO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree is preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in security architecture, application security, cloud security, or a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience securing enterprise AI/ML or LLM-based systems, including prompt injection, AI API data exfiltration, and agentic risk.
  • Experience defining and implementing AI governance frameworks involving OWASP Top 10 for LLM, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in threat modeling, secure design review, and risk management for complex distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with DLP, CASB, SWG, or equivalent technologies in AI and SaaS environments.
  • Experience designing and enforcing RBAC and ABAC access-control frameworks for AI agents, tools, and data pipelines.
  • Ability to read and review Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar code to understand AI workflows, APIs, and failure modes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting and translating AI risk into business language.
