Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software systems for controllers, sensors, and other products according to customer and technical requirements.
- Make design decisions that optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability, and contribute to innovation, patents, or process improvement.
- Support embedded software designs from concept through production launch.
- Participate in DFMEA sessions and validation planning while following APQP/NPD processes for product launches.
- Lead or support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for software and electrical issues.
- Evaluate specifications and performance needs and architect scalable, maintainable software for real-time embedded systems.
- Lead engineering-based small projects or portions of larger projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer or software engineering is required; a master’s degree is preferred and the degree should be ABET accredited.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience and basic project management skills are required.
- Working knowledge of embedded software design, engineering and manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures is required.
- Working knowledge of APQP/NPD Stage Gate, DFMEA, RCA/8D, and engineering analysis is required.
- Deep knowledge of embedded architecture and systems, safety standards, performance optimization, and system integration is required.
- Proficiency in Linux, C/C++, RTOS, and embedded debugging tools is required.
- Familiarity with C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and React is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, independent working ability, and effective cross-functional collaboration are required.
- Ability to build, test, and inspect electromechanical systems and test systems in office, laboratory, manufacturing, or transit-bus environments is required.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds is required.
