Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, operation, and support of the application backend.
- Develop and manage Python microservices, APIs, databases, and core application logic.
- Design and optimize data ingestion, ETL, transformation, processing, and orchestration pipelines.
- Optimize Snowflake queries and database performance, and resolve data pipeline issues affecting execution performance and timeliness.
- Develop robust APIs with Python and FastAPI and design application architecture for efficient concurrent-user handling.
- Assist with CI/CD pipeline setup and management, automated testing, deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct peer reviews and promote standards for code management, testing, deployments, quality, and documentation.
- Create detailed Confluence documentation to support and maintain the codebase.
- Assist with technical solution discovery and assessment of technical feasibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in backend, integration, data pipelining, and infrastructure development.
- Expertise in database optimization, performance improvement, Python, PySpark, and Snowpark.
- Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, efficient SQL queries, and cloud-based data platforms including AWS.
- Proficiency developing reliable Python APIs with FastAPI.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with modern testing frameworks; SonarQube and K6 are a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools including Kubernetes, Argo, Red Hat OpenShift, Terraform, CloudWatch, Grafana, JFrog Artifactory, GitHub, and GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to coordinate server-side and client-side integration.
