Responsibilities
- Lead solution design for large-scale applications, services, integrations, and complex or high-risk components.
- Guide architecture decisions, coding standards, code reviews, engineering guardrails, delivery quality, estimation, sequencing, and technical risk management.
- Mentor developers, senior engineers, and technical leads through design reviews, pairing, coaching, and constructive feedback.
- Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, operational readiness, incident response, root-cause analysis, performance improvement, and reliability practices.
- Own the technical strategy, platform strategy, modernization roadmaps, engineering standards, framework governance, and architecture direction for the Front-End and Digital Commerce ecosystem.
- Lead modernization initiatives involving Node.js, Next.js, Vitest, analytics libraries, shared services, and other strategic migrations.
- Define standards for mocking, service virtualization, contract testing, integration testing, quality engineering, framework lifecycle management, upgrades, and shared frontend libraries.
- Establish performance engineering standards covering Core Web Vitals, page performance, accessibility, scalability, reliability, and user experience.
- Evaluate AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices, platform automation, and developer productivity improvements.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Quality Engineering, Security, Operations, vendors, international teams, and business stakeholders on scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as a technical lead, lead developer, or in a comparable senior engineering role.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, cloud-native development, and API design.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
- Experience with production operations, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with distributed, international, or outsourced delivery teams.
- Fluent English and working French proficiency, with French fluency valued in the French-language posting.
- Ability to balance delivery, quality, security, performance, technical risk, and long-term operational sustainability.
