Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and evolve cloud cost allocation standards, including tagging, labeling, and account structures.
- Embed cost insight and enforceable attribution into platform provisioning workflows and templates.
- Integrate and develop cloud cost and optimization platforms such as Flexera, CloudZero, CloudHealth, and ProsperOps.
- Build cost dashboards, alerts, budgets, reporting pipelines, cross-cloud visibility, unit-cost analysis, and showback models.
- Define and implement cost controls in Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD workflows.
- Automate detection of anomalies, unused resources, optimization opportunities, and recurring manual FinOps activities.
- Partner with engineering teams to establish cost-aware design patterns, documentation, and usage practices.
- Lead platform-level optimization, rightsizing, reservation and commitment strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and savings measurement.
- Evaluate vendor recommendations and cloud commitment models against usage, forecasts, architecture changes, and business risk.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across platform, Finance, vendor, and cloud-provider stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, FinOps, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost drivers, billing models, usage patterns, and optimization strategies.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Experience evaluating and implementing cloud commitment models such as Savings Plans and Reserved Instances.
- Experience with cost optimization vendors or managed FinOps platforms, including tools such as Flexera, CloudZero, CloudHealth, ProsperOps, or native cloud cost platforms.
- Experience with cost allocation, tagging, and chargeback or showback models.
- Understanding of FinOps lifecycle principles: Inform, Optimize, and Operate.
- Ability to translate cost and usage data into actionable engineering recommendations and measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing standards without direct authority, mentoring engineers, and communicating across engineering, Finance, vendors, and cloud providers.
