Responsibilities

  • Design scalable, maintainable, and secure service architectures and contribute to the long-term platform vision.
  • Build backend services and web or background worker applications using C# or TypeScript.
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, with PostgreSQL preferred.
  • Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Build and optimize AWS or similar cloud infrastructure and maintain Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Apply application and infrastructure security practices, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and secrets management.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, performance, test automation, and developer experience.
  • Integrate and manage third-party APIs with monitoring and operational practices.
  • Explore and implement AI/ML-driven application features or integrations.
  • Mentor engineers, influence engineering standards, collaborate with product and cross-functional teams, and resolve complex backend issues.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional software development experience, including distributed systems, platform engineering, and architectural decision-making.
  • Proficiency in typed functional programming with Haskell, Scala, C#, or TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in secure, scalable, and maintainable system architecture.
  • Broad experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Expertise in application and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of testing, automation, performance optimization, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experience integrating and managing third-party APIs.
  • Experience with or strong interest in applying AI/ML in production systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team technical impact.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in ambiguous, complex environments.
