Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for advanced software system development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Create and maintain software documentation, design specifications, and user manuals.
- Mentor engineering teams and guide technical best practices and innovation.
- Conduct high-level code reviews and provide strategic technical feedback.
- Define and implement software requirements and specifications with stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to improve software performance and reliability.
- Represent software engineering in strategic meetings and decision-making.
- Support software and equipment architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- 14 or more years of software development experience.
- A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Expert proficiency in languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
- Extensive software development leadership experience and knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
- Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance, or current Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires an active U.S. security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include AI, machine learning, cloud computing, RTOS, embedded systems, aerospace and defense, software tools, mission system architectures, systems engineering, data structures, and Open Mission System and Universal Command and Control Interface standards experience.
