Base Salary
$62k - $141k/yr
Responsibilities
- Assess, design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable data platforms and data engineering pipelines.
- Develop end-to-end analytics systems, including data engineering backends and interactive frontends or dashboards.
- Examine disparate datasets and translate data into meaningful answers and decision-support insights.
- Work with analysts, data engineers, developers, data consumers, and clients to understand requirements and solve complex problems.
- Communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences and leadership, including external customers.
- Follow software development lifecycle best practices and produce efficient, reliable, production-quality code.
- Work alongside teammates and clients in classified and data-rich environments.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software development, data science, or data engineering based on impactful industry-oriented work.
- At least 2 years of Python experience for data-related work using libraries such as NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, and PySpark.
- At least 1 year of experience building visualization frontends through analytics dashboards or interactive GUI applications such as web apps.
- At least 1 year of external customer-facing communication about technical solutions to non-technical audiences, including leadership.
- Experience independently translating complex problems and customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience following SDLC best practices, identifying development risks, and working proactively with attention to detail.
- Secret clearance is required, and applicants may need to meet eligibility requirements for classified information access.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Spark, MapReduce, Hadoop, AWS, generative AI and LLMs, React, Angular, TypeScript, DoD platforms such as War Data Platform or Palantir Foundry, optimization programming, production-level code, and high-ranking military personnel.
- A master's degree in a STEM field is preferred.
