Base Salary

$190k - $206k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure platform infrastructure across engineering teams.
  • Develop and manage Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Own major infrastructure architecture decisions and long-term technical direction.
  • Build reusable platforms, abstractions, and AI-enabled tooling for engineering teams.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency through metrics, logging, and alerting.
  • Implement infrastructure security and compliance practices for identity management, network segmentation, secrets handling, and vulnerability management.
  • Lead incident response, postmortems, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, and resilience planning.
  • Mentor and collaborate with engineers and tech leads.
  • Document infrastructure designs, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience constructing complex cloud solutions using multiple AWS services.
  • Proficiency provisioning and configuring cloud services with Terraform and the AWS CLI/API.
  • Experience designing monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation solutions using Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, or comparable tools such as New Relic and Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL data systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining software in security and regulatory compliance environments such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
  • Comfort participating in on-call support for 24/7 service availability.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
  • Ability to communicate technical strategy clearly to managers and executives while managing competing priorities.
  • Deep expertise designing systems and processes that improve engineering team effectiveness.
  • Experience with GraphQL as a database front-end API is a bonus.
  • Experience with database architecture and observability, including Postgres, is a bonus.
  • Experience working with AI and providing AI tools for engineers and internal applications is a bonus.
  • Experience designing for and working through security audits is a bonus.
