Base Salary
$245k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead software quality for the planner architecture and build robust fault-tolerance systems.
- Resolve critical upstream and downstream performance bottlenecks to support continuous, safe vehicle operation.
- Bridge the Motion Planning and Onboard Software teams and drive overall software quality and reliability improvements.
- Design and develop motion-planning software and algorithms for decision-making in dynamic, uncertain, and interactive traffic scenarios.
- Manage the experimentation pipeline for research and data generation.
Requirements
- MS/PhD or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field, with a minimum of six years of industry experience for the bachelor’s pathway.
- Experience owning software in a shipped product with reliability requirements.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including code review, unit testing, scalability, maintainability, software architecture, and the full software lifecycle.
- Experience with planning and decision-making approaches such as optimal control, optimization-based approaches, search methods, or probabilistic decision-making.
- Production-quality coding skills in Python or C++.
- Collaborative, open-minded approach and willingness to help others.
- Ability to maintain progress toward long-term goals while addressing short-term problems.
- Passion for self-driving technology, difficult technical problems, and innovative solutions.
