Base Salary
$130k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale robust, high-performance architecture and services for Navan’s global flight platform.
- Act as a prolific individual contributor while providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
- Own critical features end-to-end, from technical decisions and implementation through release monitoring and operational support.
- Improve system reliability, performance, user experience, code quality, scalability, documentation, testing, and developer experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders across global teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
- Champion a strong product mindset and engineering culture focused on customer value and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and scaling complex systems in fast-paced, high-growth, or large-scale environments.
- Strong hands-on coding experience combined with technical leadership and mentorship.
- Deep experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS or another cloud provider, JVM performance and optimization, and cloud architecture.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
- Experience delivering production-quality maintainable code and supporting systems through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Ability to solve ambiguous, technically demanding problems and collaborate with global cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Travel-industry domain knowledge, including flights, bookings, or inventory management, is preferred.
