Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, strategic direction, and lifecycle management of Azure Data and AI platform services.
- Design, build, operate, and modernize scalable, secure, compliant, and governed cloud and data platforms.
- Implement data governance capabilities including data cataloging, lineage, metadata management, access controls, and platform controls.
- Establish guardrails and operating standards for responsible AI, data access, and platform usage.
- Define platform capabilities supporting data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and self-service data consumption at scale.
- Partner with Risk, Security, Architecture, Compliance, business, and engineering teams to manage risks and ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
- Drive platform standardization, automation, adoption, continuous innovation, and alignment with enterprise cloud and data strategies.
- Act as the interface between business, engineering, and platform teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Integrate Infrastructure as Code and Azure DevOps pipelines for automated quality and reliability checks.
- Design and operate Azure landing zones, platform automation, network connectivity, access management, monitoring, and high-availability architectures.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering and Data Engineering roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on Azure Databricks platform engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Azure architecture, platform engineering, enterprise-scale cloud operations, and Databricks workspace architecture.
- Experience with Databricks account administration, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, governance frameworks, cluster policies, serverless capabilities, workspace security, model serving, networking, and cost optimization.
- Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale Databricks platforms for analytics, AI/ML, and data engineering workloads.
- Experience implementing data catalog management, lineage, metadata management, and access controls.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code expertise such as Bicep and experience integrating CI/CD Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of golden paths, paved-road tooling, self-service automation, RBAC, internal developer platforms, DevSecOps tooling, network topology, privileged identity design, platform monitoring, security architecture, and high availability.
- Experience with DevOps or preferably DevSecOps, including continuous deployment, delivery pipelines, and test environments.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to work with Delivery Directors, Security Leads, Architects, and engineering teams.
- Proficiency in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a transformational, complex, and fast-paced environment.
