Senior Software Engineer, Backend
DraftKingsResponsibilities
- Design and build scalable systems, services, and APIs supporting millions of users.
- Develop high-performance applications in a cloud-native environment.
- Partner with Product and Architecture teams on new initiatives.
- Create comprehensive unit, integration, and performance test coverage.
- Respond to production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
- Own the health, scalability, reliability, and performance of built services.
- Participate in code and design reviews and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any relevant combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 3 years of software development experience using object-oriented languages such as Java or C#.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and scalable software architecture.
- At least 1 year of experience working with relational databases.
- Experience with AWS, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes in cloud environments.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated test suites across multiple levels.
- Experience tuning performance in large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to mentor others and influence technical decisions.
- A gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency may be required as a condition of employment.
