Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver firmware for Ring’s camera-centric devices, including new products, existing-device support, and new features.
- Contribute to architecture and design of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Improve device performance across battery life, boot time, system latency, and other critical KPIs.
- Integrate new hardware and software services.
- Manage a personal backlog, prioritize issues, and investigate complex technical problems.
- Collaborate with partners, colleagues, and distributed teams through product development and delivery.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Experience with embedded development in C/C++.
- Experience contributing to system architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
