
Sr Software Engineer - Reliability Engineering

- Design and implement redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, data protection, and other resilience initiatives.
- Write infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and manage infrastructure patterns across 50+ AWS accounts.
- Build logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerts, and service instrumentation.
- Develop production systems, APIs, internal tools, and automation with clean, tested code.
- Drive AWS cost optimization through architectural improvements and resource utilization analysis.
- Participate in on-call rotations, debug and resolve production incidents, conduct postmortems, and improve operational procedures.
- Evolve SRE standards, maintain system health, participate in technical design and code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Go, Java, or an equivalent language, with experience writing clean and testable code.
- Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Aurora, Lambda, VPCs, and Athena.
- Experience with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
- Ability to debug Linux and Windows systems using logs, metrics, and architectural knowledge.
- Ability to design scalable systems and reason about architectural trade-offs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience, or an alternative combination including a master’s degree and 2 years, a Ph.D. and up to 1 year, or 16 years of related experience.
- Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, or Prometheus is highly valued.
- Incident response, postmortem, SRE concepts, cloud cost optimization, system troubleshooting, performance analysis, and CI/CD deployment automation experience are highly valued.
