Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, deploy, and support production-quality enterprise applications and services.
- Translate requirements into technical designs and take end-to-end ownership of assigned services and components.
- Develop backend services with Java and Spring Boot, including relational and NoSQL data models and persistence layers.
- Build modern frontend applications with React and/or Angular and TypeScript.
- Design RESTful APIs and messaging or event-driven integrations using distributed-systems principles.
- Create automated functional, integration, security, resilience, unit, and end-to-end tests.
- Deploy and operate containerized workloads across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments using Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
- Use Infrastructure as Code, automated configuration management, CI/CD, and GitOps pipelines.
- Support AI-enabled engineering through retrieval-augmented generation, agent-enabled solutions, prompt engineering, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Implement secure coding, identity and access management, observability, resilience, service-level objectives, runbooks, and production support.
- Diagnose defects, performance and reliability issues, support incidents and root-cause analysis, and drive remediation.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders, support technical discovery and estimation, demonstrate solutions, contribute to proposals, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Five or more years of progressive software-engineering experience.
- Recent hands-on production coding and code-review experience.
- Experience delivering enterprise applications through design, build, test, and deployment.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot or an equivalent enterprise backend stack.
- Experience with React and/or Angular and TypeScript.
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, integration, data persistence, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure, containers, Infrastructure as Code, and production observability.
- Experience resolving performance, reliability, security, or production issues.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes or OpenShift, Terraform, GitOps, event-streaming or messaging technologies, internal developer platforms, retrieval-augmented generation, agent-enabled solutions, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, enterprise identity, financial-services security and resilience, and mentoring or leading a small technical workstream.
- Candidates should be prepared for a practical assessment involving coding or code review, service or API design, production-defect diagnosis, testing, security, resilience, and technical trade-offs.
