Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate highly available, low-latency authentication services used by real customers 24/7.
- Own Cognito User Auth features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Improve availability, latency, security, and operational automation.
- Build and extend AI-agent tooling for development, code review, and operational investigation.
- Investigate ambiguous production-impacting problems, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
- Collaborate across AWS Identity teams and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience contributing to architecture and design for reliability and scaling of new and existing systems.
- Preferred: experience leveraging AI agents for security review automation, spec-driven development, or adversarial red teaming.
