Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy production-ready code across vehicle platform software components.
- Identify problems, design solutions, and account for tradeoffs and edge cases.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, test, and safety teams on software integration.
- Ramp up on assigned codebases, product areas, and systems and complete tasks efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking bachelor’s or master’s program in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Graduating between December 2027 and August 2029 with at least one additional academic quarter or semester remaining after the internship.
- Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the 12-week summer internship period from May 24 to August 13 or June 14 to September 3, 2027.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and proficiency in C++, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Preferred: software engineering experience through internships, work, competitions, research, coursework, or personal projects.
- Preferred: experience building, testing, and shipping production software, including exposure to safety-critical development.
- Preferred: familiarity with Yocto or Buildroot, networking fundamentals, embedded Linux, robotics frameworks such as ROS, and sensors such as cameras, lidar, radar, or IMUs.
