Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, and development of LiDAR algorithms for signal processing, detection, ranging, calibration, and point-cloud pipelines.
- Define, implement, optimize, and verify DSP processing stages including filtering, FFT-based methods, peak detection, and noise mitigation.
- Develop LiDAR perception algorithms for clustering, tracking, object detection, and sensor-fusion interfaces.
- Conduct trade studies, simulations, and analysis; diagnose laboratory and field-test issues and drive algorithm improvements.
- Define algorithm requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets with firmware, embedded software, and systems teams.
- Support algorithm integration, bring-up, and validation on target hardware and debug cross-domain issues.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in engineering design and milestone reviews.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing algorithms for sensors, DSP, computer vision, or embedded perception systems, including end-to-end ownership through development and release.
- Deep hands-on expertise in LiDAR, radar, or similar time-of-flight and ranging-sensor algorithms; automotive LiDAR experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong DSP background covering digital filter design, spectral analysis, detection theory, and noise modeling.
- Software algorithm implementation experience with C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Understanding of point-cloud processing, 3D geometry, calibration, and computer-vision performance metrics.
- Familiarity with embedded, FPGA, and SoC deployment constraints, including fixed-point optimization, latency budgets, and resource limitations.
- Working knowledge of sensor-system architecture and the effects of opto-mechanical design, optical performance, and hardware constraints on algorithm behavior.
- Experience with ASPICE, ISO 26262, or ISO/SAE 21434 workflows is a plus.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to drive technical trade-offs across multidisciplinary teams.
