Base Salary

$140k - $185k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the physical lab, including facilities, equipment, procurement, and project scheduling for customer PoCs and internal R&D.
  • Lead assembly and fabrication of prototype rigs, sensor arrays, 3D-printed mounts, and microelectronic setups.
  • Instrument physical systems and capture, clean, and preprocess high-frequency acoustic, vibration, electrical, and motor-current data.
  • Design DSP feature-extraction pipelines involving FFTs, spectral analysis, and filtering.
  • Deploy optimized and quantized TinyML models to ARM Cortex-M and Renesas microcontrollers.
  • Debug embedded firmware and hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, and low-level interfaces.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal product teams on hardware telemetry, edge firmware issues, and live demonstrations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in firmware debugging, signal processing, and physical prototype fabrication.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline; BSEE candidates with extensive demonstrable lab leadership experience will also be evaluated.
  • 7–12+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software, physical hardware prototyping, DSP, and real-time edge computing.
  • Expertise in physical system fabrication, 3D printing, electrical assembly, PCB bring-up, and low-level hardware debugging.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills for constrained microcontrollers and experience with bare-metal or RTOS-based systems.
  • Experience with FreeRTOS or Zephyr, DMA buffer management, and SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN drivers.
  • Deep understanding of DSP for time-series or audio data and practical experience deploying quantized machine-learning models to microcontrollers.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, and physical prototype rigs.
  • Ability to lead lab projects, collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.
