Software Engineer III, Equities Technology - C++ Low Latency

- Design and implement an options market-making and volatility execution platform across the trading stack.
- Develop and optimize performance-critical C++ components with a low-latency focus.
- Build high-throughput systems that handle real-time market data and order flow.
- Execute software design, development, troubleshooting, testing, and production support across complex technical areas.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementations meet design constraints.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify patterns and improve coding hygiene, application quality, and system architecture.
- Mentor and develop engineers in a trading technology environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Formal software engineering training or certification and at least two years of applied software engineering and trading-systems experience.
- Expert proficiency in modern C++ for performance-critical production systems.
- Strong low-latency optimization skills, including memory management, data structures, and Linux systems programming.
- Experience with TCP/UDP socket programming and real-time messaging architectures.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile engineering practices.
- Preferred knowledge of options, derivatives pricing, Greeks, and market-making strategies.
- Preferred experience building market-data feed handlers or order-management systems.
- Preferred familiarity with FIX and native or binary exchange-connectivity protocols.
- Preferred experience mentoring and developing engineers in trading technology.
