Responsibilities
- Manage a team of five or more testers.
- Evaluate industry-standard test tools and recommend tools based on best practices.
- Create, maintain, and evaluate software automation test scripts.
- Establish test strategies to ensure features meet acceptance criteria.
- Create and execute manual and automated test cases for functional coverage.
- Gather and validate functional, performance, and load requirements.
- Identify and log defects with clear reproduction steps and validate fixes.
- Work with developers and Requirements Analysts to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
- Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives from a testing perspective.
- Manage test data, including creating data through API calls.
- Create test reports and maintain test documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 15+ years of demonstrated experience permitted as a substitute.
- At least 15 years of general experience, including 10 years of specialized and/or hands-on automated testing experience.
- Demonstrated experience with two to three object-oriented programming languages, with Java preferred and some Groovy experience.
- Hands-on experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts.
- Experience with automated testing IDEs such as IntelliJ.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Katalon, Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI.
- Operating system management experience with Windows Server 2012 or 2016.
- Experience with commercial defect management systems such as JIRA.
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, and file systems.
- Ability to pass a government background investigation and meet Secret clearance requirements.
- Preferred experience includes CI/CD tools, web UI automation, Groovy or other scripting languages, production RESTful interfaces, SSRS, source control, major web browsers, and mobile application testing frameworks.
