Base Salary
$200k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the release and configuration layer across the organization
- Design and implement scalable release workflows, tooling, and reusable deployment abstractions
- Collaborate with CI and infrastructure owners to extend and integrate core platform systems
- Build release orchestration for artifact promotion, environment-aware deployments, and release candidate validation
- Develop self-service tooling and paved paths for safe and reliable deployments
- Identify and solve systemic release and environment-management problems
- Embed automated validation, safety checks, and rollback mechanisms in release workflows
- Design environment and configuration management systems for consistency, traceability, and reproducibility
- Improve release reliability, scalability, and developer experience through automation
- Build observability into the release lifecycle to monitor deployment health, performance, and failure modes
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building platform systems, infrastructure, or developer-facing tooling
- Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript or a similar language, with experience building internal tools, services, or frameworks
- Experience leading or substantially contributing hands-on to shared engineering platforms
- Deep familiarity with CI/CD systems as platforms, including building on top of or extending them programmatically
- Strong understanding of containerized systems, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment architectures
- Experience building production-scale, multi-environment systems on AWS
- Strong knowledge of artifact management, promotion strategies, rollback mechanisms, and deployment safety
- Ability to identify systemic problems and turn them into scalable platform improvements
- Experience collaborating across CI, infrastructure, and SRE domains
- Track record of improving developer experience through automation and self-service tooling
- Hands-on systems-thinking and technical leadership experience
- Interest in agentic, spec-driven development
