Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of scalable Android and iOS applications.
- Own mobile architecture, technical standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices using approaches such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
- Guide the full application lifecycle from requirements and solution design through development, testing, release, and production support.
- Make technical decisions regarding frameworks, libraries, integrations, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Conduct technical and code reviews, establish engineering standards, and ensure secure coding and quality practices.
- Mentor Senior and Junior mobile developers and provide technical coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Backend Engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver mobile solutions.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, performance bottlenecks, stability problems, and production incidents.
- Improve mobile practices for testing, CI/CD, release management, monitoring, and application quality.
- Support estimation, technical planning, sprint planning, delivery tracking, architecture reviews, and the mobile technology roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional mobile application development experience with significant Android and/or iOS experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Android with Kotlin or Java and/or iOS with Swift or Objective-C.
- Strong knowledge of modern mobile architecture, design patterns, software engineering principles, MVVM, Clean Architecture, and modular or scalable architectures.
- Android candidates should know Android SDK and Jetpack Components including ViewModel, Room, Navigation, LiveData/Flow, and related libraries; iOS candidates should know Swift, UIKit or SwiftUI, concurrency, networking, persistence, and modern iOS frameworks.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, backend services, and third-party SDKs.
- Knowledge of mobile security, secure coding, data protection, compliance, performance optimization, memory management, crash analysis, and application stability.
- Experience with unit testing, UI/integration testing, code quality tools, CI/CD pipelines, automated releases, and Git.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor mobile engineering teams, communicate technical concepts, drive initiatives, and make technical decisions.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise-grade or high-traffic applications, leading Android and iOS teams, modularization, reusable components, cloud services, observability, analytics, crash monitoring, regulated environments, and deployment to Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
- Exposure to Flutter or React Native, Agile/Scrum, and distributed or client-facing development teams is an advantage.
