
Software Engineer

- Design, develop, and maintain features for a production software system used by public safety agencies.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Own features or components from design through delivery and ongoing improvement.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that improves reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to support system stability.
- Participate in system design discussions involving performance, scalability, and user experience tradeoffs.
- Apply automated testing, continuous delivery, observability, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Continuously develop technical skills and expand impact within the team.
- Undergo and satisfactorily pass a CJIS-required fingerprint background check.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and computer science fundamentals.
- Experience building applications with .NET and C#.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, web-based applications, relational databases, and SQL queries.
- Experience working on production systems and real-world software solutions.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code focused on long-term quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical ideas clearly.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a record of adopting new technologies or concepts.
- Interest in cloud-based systems and distributed architectures.
- Experience using AI tools to support software development.
- Preferred: exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Preferred: experience with automated testing or test-driven development.
- Preferred: experience contributing to mobile applications for iOS, Android, or Windows.
- Preferred: experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React.
