Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs for real-time applications used by millions of users.
- Own the full development lifecycle, including architecture, workstream planning, and implementation guidance.
- Write high-performance, well-tested code and establish standards for code quality, design patterns, testing, and system performance.
- Build and scale distributed applications and microservices using event streaming and non-relational databases.
- Triage, debug, and resolve complex production issues while driving reliability and operational excellence.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead code and design reviews, and guide technical decisions.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering and help shape the team roadmap and technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 5 years of experience in object-oriented backend development, including C#, OOP principles, design patterns, and backend architecture.
- Experience architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience developing automated unit, integration, and performance test suites.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, lead code and design reviews, and drive technical decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with high-performance distributed applications and microservices, event streaming, and non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, code quality, and engineering best-practice skills.
