Responsibilities
- Collaborate with global wireless and IoT teams to align platform deliverables.
- Support product engineering teams integrating embedded wireless solutions into building automation products.
- Design and implement RF system architecture, firmware, and laboratory-based design verification.
- Develop and demonstrate prototypes for smart edge devices used in HVAC control, fire systems, and building security systems.
- Collaborate with wireless, mobile, cloud, and AI/ML experts on cross-functional product development.
- Participate in technical discussions, solution definition, platform development, and standards activities.
- Conduct customer feedback meetings with prototypes and iterate on solutions.
- Oversee, supervise, and review team-member tasks and manage end-to-end internal and external projects.
- Provide instructions, mentoring, and guidance to junior colleagues.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in embedded software.
- Strong C/C++ programming and debugging experience.
- Hands-on experience with FreeRTOS, another RTOS platform, or multithreaded software.
- Basic assembly-language knowledge.
- Experience with Arm Cortex controllers or other 32/16-bit microcontroller and RISC architectures.
- Experience using CROs, logic analyzers, signal generators, current probes, and JTAG emulators/debuggers.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket configuration-management tools.
- Experience using firmware-development IDEs such as IAR Workbench or Code Composer Studio.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with rapid prototyping, integration, testing of embedded systems, and iterative development.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux systems, Linux system programming, Python scripting, and embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and i.MX.
- Preferred experience with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, BLE, cellular, LoRa, NB-IoT, ZigBee/Thread, mesh networking, Ethernet, or SubGHz RF.
- Preferred knowledge of wireless sensor networks, wireless protocols, communication standards, RF SoCs, and wireless/network simulation tools such as NS3, Matlab, or OPNet.
- AI-assisted engineering skills are a bonus.
