Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test firmware for implantable neural stimulators, chargers, and handheld remote-control devices.
- Contribute to product specifications, architecture, designs, schedules, test plans, upgrades, and project milestones.
- Apply standard design processes, technical principles, and engineering techniques to product development and productivity improvements.
- Address technical and regulatory challenges while reviewing work for technical soundness, adequacy, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with local and remote teams under general supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer, electrical, electronic engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of work experience in the relevant field.
- 5–7 years of experience in microcontroller firmware development.
- Professional experience with C/C++ programming languages.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PHP and/or Python.
- Knowledge of firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit processors from multiple vendors using C/C++ and assembly language is preferred.
- Medical-device industry experience under IEC62304 is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work with local and remote teams, and English proficiency of 85% or higher.
