Base Salary
$190k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teammates to design and build database features that power AI applications.
- Tune performance and support reliability in real-time distributed systems.
- Help Pinecone run smoothly on popular cloud providers.
- Optimize tail latency, throughput, cache hit rate, and operational cost efficiency.
- Take ownership of work while collaborating, learning, and incorporating feedback.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of work experience programming in Rust, Go, C++, or a comparable language.
- Genuine curiosity about distributed systems and willingness to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Creativity, persistence, thoughtful communication, and comfort seeking feedback.
- Willingness to learn and appreciation for constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred: familiarity with asynchronous or multithreaded environments.
- Preferred: experience with performance tools or optimizing code for speed, reliability, or efficiency.
