Responsibilities
- Design and implement OCI tenancy architectures covering compartments, VCNs, subnets, security controls, DRGs, compute, storage, load balancing, IAM, and network security.
- Lead end-to-end migrations from on-premises and other cloud platforms to OCI, including workload discovery, dependency mapping, migration execution, and database migration.
- Build and manage containerized workloads on OKE and design CI/CD pipelines using OCI DevOps and supported automation tools.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi and implement OCI monitoring, logging, analytics, and APM capabilities.
- Deploy and operate Oracle Database services and Oracle application workloads on OCI, including high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Create architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks; collaborate with architects, application teams, and clients.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and mentoring of junior cloud engineers.
Requirements
- 7–8 years of progressive cloud engineering experience, including at least 4 years focused on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on expertise with OCI compute, networking, storage, IAM, database, and security services.
- Proven experience delivering on-premises-to-OCI or cross-cloud migration projects.
- Mandatory proficiency with Terraform and the OCI provider.
- Experience with Kubernetes or OKE and CI/CD pipeline design.
- Solid knowledge of Oracle Database technologies including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and GoldenGate.
- Working knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with at least one of Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and automation.
- Strong understanding of DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPN, and network peering.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills, with the ability to present to client stakeholders.
- Preferred OCI certifications include OCI Architect Associate, OCI Architect Professional, OCI DevOps Professional, and OCI Database Professional.
- Additional preferred qualifications include AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications; Oracle application deployment experience; FinOps, GitOps, policy-as-code, Autonomous Database, ITIL, managed services, or consulting delivery experience.
