Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize IBM z/OS mainframe environments supporting core applications and transaction processing.
  • Support IBM mainframe subsystems and components including CICS, MQ, WAS, JES2, storage devices, and coupling facilities.
  • Develop, test, and deploy JCL scripts, REXX programs, and other automation solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and provide production support.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, engineering teams, and operations teams on implementation and client experience.
  • Author system and design documentation to reduce future maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, governance standards, and audit requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical system support and automate routine operational tasks.

Requirements

  • Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience in mainframe systems engineering, system programming, or operations.
  • Associate-level candidates require 1–2 years post-college graduation and at least 6 months to 1 year of work experience; senior associate candidates require 2–3 years post-college graduation and at least 1–2 years of work experience.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, MIS, Business and Technology Management, or a related technical field is required, with equivalent experience accepted.
  • Experience with IBM z/OS, BCP components, JCL, RACF, MQ, DB2, CICS, IODF panels, mainframe networking, and HMC panels is valuable.
  • Experience with mainframe performance monitoring and tools such as MainView or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, pattern-recognition, and problem-determination skills are preferred.
  • Experience with observability metrics and analysis is preferred.
