Responsibilities
- Own enhancements and defect fixes for the FX Option Risk Monitoring System during North American business hours.
- Lead technical delivery from analysis and design through build, testing, release readiness, and post-release validation.
- Translate business needs into pragmatic technical solutions and communicate trade-offs involving speed, risk, technical debt, and cost.
- Partner with Product Owners, Front Office traders, and quant teams to clarify requirements and manage ambiguity.
- Improve resilience, performance, security, observability, logging, metrics, alerting, and production support outcomes.
- Perform incident triage, root-cause analysis, and permanent remediation of defects.
- Manage cross-system impacts across integrated services and shared data flows as the scope expands into the Trade Life Cycle platform.
- Promote engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, documentation, maintainable design, and CI/CD hygiene.
- Collaborate across time zones with a China-based technical lead and engineering team while mentoring and strengthening local support capability.
Requirements
- Senior hands-on experience building and supporting Java backend systems in production with clear technical ownership.
- Strong experience with modern Java services, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices patterns.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, concurrency, performance tuning, and clean code practices.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, incident management, unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to make and communicate sound technical decisions and work effectively with distributed teams.
- Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Front Office and quantitative partners.
