Responsibilities
- Build and deliver validated prototypes, technical designs, complex features, integrations, and production implementations across discovery and delivery tracks.
- Own delivery outcomes including backlog decomposition, design intent, code quality, non-functional requirements, delivery sign-off, and post-release operational support.
- Lead client-facing technical engagements by facilitating workshops, presenting solutions, making trade-off decisions, securing approvals, and serving as a platform subject-matter expert.
- Create architecture and design artifacts including ADRs, interface contracts, data models, sequencing diagrams, migration and rollback plans, and traceability matrices.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic workflows for prototyping, code generation, test-case creation, specifications, documentation, and automated validation.
- Review and approve implementation-team deliverables, reinforce engineering standards, and mentor engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and example-driven leadership.
- Identify reusable assets, API-first opportunities, technical gaps, risks, compatibility issues, data-integrity concerns, and compliance constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Current, daily hands-on coding and prototyping experience in modern technology stacks.
- Experience building cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven systems for 5+ years, including Azure or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot, plus TypeScript and React or Vue.
- Experience owning end-to-end solution delivery, including design, implementation, and post-release operational accountability for medium-to-large projects.
- Strong experience with REST/OpenAPI, messaging platforms, and relational and non-relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, deployment tooling, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Practical experience using generative AI and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor for measurable delivery improvements.
- Experience with technical leadership, stakeholder communication, workshops, code reviews, mentoring, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Preferred qualifications include retail POS and store-operations knowledge, Azure or equivalent cloud certifications, enterprise security and compliance experience, Dual-Track Agile leadership, platform strategy, reusable assets, API-first design, and formal or machine-readable specifications such as OpenAPI, UML+OCL, or TLA+.
