Responsibilities
- Collaborate with investigators, research staff, stakeholders, users, subject matter experts, and solution architects to develop and operate sustainable HPCF systems.
- Develop, deploy, optimize, and maintain scientific applications, computational and visualization tools, data-processing pipelines, and programming libraries on HPCF systems.
- Port, parallelize, test, debug, and enhance application code and scripts for execution on HPCF systems.
- Develop documentation and training materials for applications, tools, and pipelines.
- Evaluate new computing, data-processing, and visualization technologies.
- Develop utilization metrics and analyze and report HPCF system usage.
- Support plans to increase HPCF utilization and collaboration among users.
- Provide customer support, lead complex projects and analyses, and conduct root-cause analysis and performance optimization.
Requirements
- Master's degree in computer science, data science, information science, mathematics, or a related field is required; a PhD in a related field is preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience developing, optimizing, or maintaining scientific or computational applications is required; graduate projects or assistantships may count.
- Experience designing computational pipelines, workflows, or software for HPC systems, including AI/ML training and inference workloads, is highly preferred.
- Experience optimizing software and workflows for performance, scalability, and efficient execution on HPC and AI/ML systems is highly preferred.
- Experience managing and processing large scientific datasets and developing workflows for life sciences or other data-intensive scientific domains is highly preferred.
- Experience collaborating with researchers to translate scientific requirements into computational solutions is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of C/C++, Python, R, MATLAB, and parallel programming with OpenMP, MPI, or Pthreads is required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects, collaborate across disciplines, analyze and optimize scientific code, and communicate effectively with varied audiences is required.
