Base Salary
$177k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy production machine learning models for perception systems.
- Own end-to-end model development from data preparation and training through evaluation and deployment.
- Write scalable production-quality code for training, evaluation, and inference workflows.
- Analyze model performance and failure modes, then improve robustness, accuracy, and generalization across driving environments.
- Develop and optimize camera-based and 3D perception models using multimodal sensor data.
- Integrate perception models into production autonomy software in collaboration with software, infrastructure, and autonomy engineers.
- Improve training pipelines, data workflows, and tooling to accelerate model iteration and deployment.
- Contribute to model architecture and technical decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers on implementation, experimentation, and machine learning practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field with 6+ years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years, or a Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience.
- Production machine learning experience in computer vision, perception, robotics, or autonomous systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch, including production-quality machine learning code.
- Experience training, evaluating, debugging, and improving deep learning models with large-scale datasets.
- Experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems and relevant deep learning architectures.
- Ability to analyze model performance, improve reliability, translate ambiguous challenges into practical solutions, and work independently.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally to integrate machine learning models into larger software systems.
- Bonus experience with autonomous driving or robotics perception, LiDAR, point clouds, sensor fusion, temporal or video-based learning, C++, ROS, production deployment, distributed training, evaluation frameworks, benchmarking, or ML tooling and infrastructure.
