Base Salary
$264k - $395k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve foundational Android infrastructure, including modularization, dependency injection, navigation, deep linking, and app lifecycle systems.
- Design and deliver shared libraries and frameworks that improve developer and AI ergonomics.
- Drive Android architecture decisions and develop platform technology, including open-source contributions where valuable.
- Build observability and performance tooling that supports engineers and on-callers.
- Identify and lead cross-cutting technical initiatives across Cash App’s Android organization.
- Evaluate and introduce AI development tools and build AI-powered platform capabilities.
- Lead architecture and design reviews, establish scalable technical standards, and mentor engineers.
- Partner with iOS, web, backend, product, design, and leadership stakeholders on cross-platform platform investments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Android development experience with demonstrated organizational-scale impact.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, modern Android architecture patterns, build systems, performance profiling, and testing at scale.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and a strong perspective on effective AI use in engineering.
- Strong systems thinking, initiative, communication, and organizational leadership skills.
- Preferred: experience building developer platforms, shared libraries, or internal tooling for large engineering organizations.
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, regulated or financial-services environments, and mobile experimentation, feature flagging, or A/B testing infrastructure.
